This past weekend 17U Born Ready Elite travel team proved to be more than ready capturing the Championship title at Summer Jamfest in Manheim, PA.

The eclectic Brooklyn base team won the chip in Hoop Group’s 17U Nook Bracket Championship game held at the Spooky Nook Athletic Complex. The Born Ready squad led by co-MVP’s 6’3″ Guard Monte’ Lambert with 27 point (five three’s) and 6-4 180lb Guard Ezekiel Charles finished with 21 points (four threes). All of the Born Ready team members will not reach 18teen until December.

Currently, Lambert attends James Madison HS. However, he will attend the post graduate school Trinity Pawling this season. This Class of 2015 scorer who can shoot lights-out list Morgan State, Adelphi, and Caldwell College.

Charles is currently signed with Barton Community College. However, this Class of 2015 player holds interest from Northeastern, Robert Morris and Maine. The Lincoln HS combo guard is an excellent shooter who can defend and rebound at a high level.

The other players of the Born Ready guard heavy team are 6-6 175lb Jefferson HS Isiah Deas. The combo guard finished this contest with 11 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and two assists. This dynamic ball handler lists interest from Quinnipiac, Vermont, Dayton, Hartford, Kennesaw State, Loyola, George Washington, St Francis (NY), Maine, Canisius, Cal Bakersfield, and Rider. Deas will do a post graduate year at Coastal Academy.

Teammate 5-8 175lb Eric Marbury added 10 points, six assists, and five steals. Currently, Marbury attends Pleasant Valley HS (PA). This pure point guard is excellent on both half’s of the court or in the open floor where he can compete at a high level. Marbury the nephew of Stephon Marbury lists interest from Umass-Lowell, FDU and Adelphi. The guard will attend Coastal Academy this upcoming season.

Next stop, on the road for the Born Ready team will be Fab 48 in Las Vegas, NV. The young Brooklyn flavored squad will be placed in one of the Super Pools in the Platinum Bracket.
