The Stellar play from Dwayne Daniel 2014 Lawrence HS(LI), Gjaimier Stanford 2013 Howard Technical HS (DE), Mariega Clarke 2013 Putnam Science Academy (CT) and Tommy Rivera 2013 Paterson Eastside (NJ)helped guided us to the championship game of the Northeast Live Invitational this past weekend in Ardsley NY. The team went 3-1 overall with Dwayne and Gjaimier averaging 20 plus points per outing and Mairega Clarke posting a double double in leading us to the championship game in 17U Red Bracket.

The first game we squared off against a very athletic East Coast Elite (CT) that lead for most off the game. Our guard play, strong defensive interior play from wings Mairega Clarke and Onandi Brooks matched ECE’s athleticism and allowed us to get out in transition and break the game open. A late three by Daniel sealed the win for us and helped us advance to the quarterfinals in bracket play. Daniel lead us with 21 points, while Clake and Stanford finished with 17 and 15 respectively.

The quarterfinals saw jump out to a 14-0 lead against NJ Crusaders. It was a collective group effort as we cruised to a 20 point win.

We kicked off Sunday in semi-finals game against MBA Nation (ME). The game started off at a fast pass with both teams trading baskets. Dwayne Daniel started out red hot from three. with closing minutes and team down by 3 Mairega with 55 seconds to go on in the drove to the baskets scored the bucket and got fouled he made the free thrown to tie the game and sent it into overtime. We scored all 7 points to seal the win and advance to the championship game. Clarke lead with 15 points and 2 Blks while Daniel finished 13 points including 3 threes.

The championship game put us against a sharpshooting Rhode Island Hawks that upset Juice Allstars in bracket play. Daniel started the game hot hitting 5 threes in the first. The hawks were too much in the end as they hit 17 threes in enroute to 90-73 victory. Daniel lead us with 28 points including 7 threes, Gjaimier Stanford and Tommy Rivera finished with 20 points a piece.
