Mariega Clarke has always been known as a hard working player with a knack for being in the right place at the right time.
Clarke, who originally attended Holy Cross HS, is doing a prep year at Putnam Science Academy (CT). The 6’5″ wing’s hard work seems to be finally paying off with his first D-1 offer.
According to Hasani Stewart, the director of Raising Champions, his former AAU team, Clarke received an offer from an NEC school. “Last night Coach Jason Harris from LIU-Brooklyn offered Mariega Clarke a scholarship,” Stewart said.
Stewart said that interest in the long and lanky forward has also increased. “He is also being recruited by Quinnipiac, Marist, Delaware, Utah, Maine and Morgan State.”
In addition to Clarke, Stewart said that his former Holy Cross and Raising Champion teammate, Marquise Moore also received another offer on Friday. “Marist called and offered, “he said.
