After leaving Thomas Edison HS in Queens, NY and doing a post-grad year at New Hope Academy (MD), the combo guard signed, sealed and will deliver his services in the Sun Belt conference.
“Cavon signed with Florida Atlantic University today,” said Hasani Stewart, program director of Raising Champions Basketball Program. “We’re excited about [him] helping Coach Mike Jarvis continue his winning tradition.
Baker, who played AAU/Travel basketball with Raising Champions, chose the FAU Owls over VMI, New Hampshire, Bryant and Maryland Eastern Shore according to Stewart. “It was a perfect fit for his game,” he said.
Over the past seasons, Baker’s game has evolved and Stewart credits his AAU coach for much of his improvement. “Our head coach, J.R. Rodriguez, has done a magnificent job in developing Cavon these past three years,” Stewart said.
At New Hope Academy, Baker played under head coach Chris Chaney.
